We in San Francisco take our food seriously so we don't die of 1) E. Coli poisoning, and 2) a bad diet consisting of saturated fat, food additives and artificial food coloring, and preservatives (in other words, multisyllabic words for food that we can't pronounce and don't now the definition for unless we consult a chemical compound dictionary, or our Dad, the UIUC Chemistry Professor.)

A foodie is one who is: 1) educated about the source(s) of food, how it's made, if it's economically and environmentally sustainable and fair trade to its producers, and 2) if the food is healthy for the consumer as well as the consumed, and 3) whether it tastes good and is the "best of breed or brand" for the food, in other words, is this the best, healthiest, and most delicious food, and also authentic that we can find, and is this food fun for me to eat, or am I just hungry and any acceptable food for my mindfulness and health in the long run will do?
